Across the Border

The Choice

Let’s not make this harder than it already is,
Let’s not throw the insults as to who do we dismiss.
Let’s not tear the agreement up that suited for so long,
Let’s not forget the good times we cannot prolong.

Don’t play the wounded victim card it doesn’t really suit,
Don’t try the “what is happening” as it tastes of bitter fruit.
Don’t try the sarcastic comments ploy we’ve heard it all before,
Don’t try your far away glazed look as it’s become such a bore.

The time for talk is in the past,
The time for action is here at last.
The time for change is in the air,
Its time for joy and not despair.

Let’s think about this rationally before we go too far,
Let’s take a step back and leave the door ajar.
Let’s look at all the plusses forget about the rest,
Let’s look at getting through this before we split the nest.

Don’t give up on the good times the future has to bear,
Don’t give up on the work you’ve done and how you got to there.
Don’t burn your bridges needlessly to start it all again,
Don’t break the link or snap the joint that ties us to the chain.

The time for talk is in the past,
The time for action is here at last.
The time for change is in the air,
It’s time for joy and not despair.

Let’s not make this harder than it already is,
Let’s not throw the insults as to who do we dismiss.
Let’s not tear the agreement up that suited for so long,
Let’s not forget the good times we cannot prolong.

The time for talk is in the past,
The time for action is here at last.
The time for change is in the air,                                       It’s time for joy and not despair.
